Square Bales

Mom wanted some straw bales for her little chickies. So, Dad called up some dude and bought some bales. We just had to pick em up.  Why not use some extra help when its hanging around your house?
This was Colleen's first experience at picking up hay bales - she did better than I thought - jk Colleen.
It was a hot one and I was the only one in long sleeves. I also am the only one with the least amount of straw scratches :)
Dad telling us about all the experiences with hay bales They used to see who can throw the highest. He was always the driver and Scott stacked and Grandpa and Lyle would throw up the bales when he was little and then as he got older he wished he had the driver position back.  He talked about how Grandpa would throw the bales with a pitch fork.
 Colleen getting it up there.

Colleen and I were the stacking queens.
Then we drove it home and stacked it all in the shed. With all of our help, it didn't take us too long and we even helped out a neighbor. It's not really work when you are having fun and that's what we had. Lots of laughs, work, and sweating but a very rewarding experience with some great people!

Swimming Summer

Gracie is just a fish! She loves, loves, loves to swim! She does a pretty good job swimming too!
Evie just so excited to be swimming!
There she goes. Here she is swimming. Her idea of swimming is walking along the bottom of the pool with her hands. She's very timid with the water at times and then other times she darn near drowns herself!
She has a lot of fun though!
Gracie went off the big board for the first time the other day! She was very brave and went off a couple times!
 Silly girl.

Here we are playing Jaws - ha ha!
Evie's back float - so cute!
Gracie loves to dive into the water, which looks more like a belly flop but she makes it look very graceful :)

Playing with Dad in the pool!
Nice jump Gracie! I think we have a ton more swimming to do this summer! It's definitely been warm enough!

Gardening and Chickens

Colleen was trying out one of Mom's cherry's off her tree - little sour.
 Colleen working in the garden!
I really like this picture...we were all picking peas and there was a lot of them!
Our crop pickings for the after noon.  Gracie took these last two pictures - she's pretty good!
That was if we could get her away from her chicken sitting :)
Sit here little chickie - hahaha. Just like a little baby :)

 Aww..chicken love.
Then the girls were patrolling the garden and would have to get the chickens out of Grandma Jo's garden.

Father's Day 2012

Dad with his two beautiful girls on Daddy's day!
 Family pic!
We were entertained by the kids. All of them had so much fun!
 Such a cute picture.
Papa thought he was pulling the joke getting the hose out to spray down the kids and it back fired! Get him Evie!
Even Colleen got it - we didn't know she could run so fast hahahahaha!
No one was safe - Gracie tried to get Sheila but she was too fast :)
Then we all had some jello cake, cookies, and pioneer woman's knock you naked brownies for dessert. The girls did some fun craft projects with Sheila and we all enjoyed each others company.  It was a great Father's day!
