We Are Having . . . . . . . . .?

Although we were planning on not finding out the baby's sex until the birth, curiosity got the best of us and we were too tempted not to find out. We are having another GIRL! Little Gracie is going to love having a sister to play with. Even though a boy would've evened things out, having another daughter has its many advantages. I now don't have to paint the baby room a neutral color, we get to re-use all of Gracie's baby clothes, and we only have to try and figure out a girls name. The ultrasound tech sounded pretty confident in her prediction. Every thing seems to be as it should and we are glad we will have this precious addition to our family.

Daddy's Little Helper

While Hoff had his two weeks off, he got two major projects accomplished. First he put together Gracie's new swing set, which she loves. One of her favorite things to do is to swing. Literally she would swing for hours and we do. We've learned to place a chair out there for Mom and Dad to rest. The little stinker even knows to kink her legs back and hold on to the chains when we have had enough and want her to get out. Hoff has even taken the swing off the hooks and brought the whole thing into the house because she would not get out. Hoff then tackled the challenging job of laying laminate flooring in our kitchen. As frustrating as it was at times, it looks really nice and we like it a lot. My job was to entertain Gracie so she wouldn't interfere with the installation process. She likes to get in the way.

First Zoo Experience!

On May 4th, we decided to take Gracie to the zoo. We considered it a mini vacation since we probably won't get to take one this summer. Hoff is lucky enough to have 2 weeks off between jobs, so we are doing some fun things and he is getting some work done around this house. He will probably be stationed in Columbus, but don't know for sure. We knew we wanted Gracie to see three things for sure . . .the fish, monkeys, and ride the train. We went on a Monday for crowd purposes and for future reference the train only goes on the weekends. I was a little mad about that. Anyways, Gracie did like the Lied Jungle with all the monkeys and she did like the fish aquarium. It was cute to hear her call the fish, "Here fishy, fishy, fishy. By about three Gracie had had enough and laid down for a nap and my feet were sore. I don't know how people get yearly passes. Once a year is good enough for me; it makes for an exhausting but good day.

The Perfect Day

We spent a day at Schram Park and the Platte river Sunday, May 3rd. The weather was perfect and Gracie just loved the sand. She would lay all over it.

We were going to picnic, but we thought Gracie wouldn't do well eating outside. So we ate a little lunch at the Gretna Pizza Hut, before heading over to the park. We looked at the fish aquarium and she loved that. Then we headed over to check out all the geese and the little baby gosslings.
She doesn't have any diapers on because she sat in goose poop over at the park. She didn't seem to mind not having pants on.
All in all, we had a nice relaxing day and plan on going again sometime!

Holy Cow!

Hoff and I were watching T.V when we looked back to see Gracie sitting perfectly in her highchair. We were totally amazed and this is how the little stinker did it.

GET TO BED!

This past week, we've been trying to get Gracie to go to sleep on her own. Before, we were idiots and laid with her until she fell asleep, which could last from 5 to 60 minutes. Now, we are just laying her in her bed and telling her "Good Night". The trouble is that Gracie won't stay in her bed when we put her in there and this picture is the sight we see in the living room as she peeks her head around the corner. It is still taking a long time and many trips back into the bedroom, but hopefully one day Gracie will fall asleep on her own and in her own bed. Right?

Cheeeeeeeeesssse!

On Sunday, March 15th, we all took a drive up to Wahoo to go to Bomgaars. Mom told me about the little chicks and ducks that they had in Columbus so I thought it would be fun to take Gracie up there to see them. Of course, when we got there they had none. So then we went to their local elementry school where we played on the equiptment. Gracie liked chasing the corn husks around in the wind the best. This is titled "cheese" because Gracie has started saying cheese when you take her picture. Its really funny.

And Then There Was Four!

Yes, this is the official blog announcement that we are going to have another baby! Are you surprised cause we were. It all started with feeling hungry in the mornings when I got up to go to work. I'm never hungry at this time. Secondly, I couldn't get my butt out of the bed in the mornings. Thirdly, I started getting up in the middle of the night to pee. Forthy, I began noticing all the pregnancy commercials on tv. And lastly, a positive pregnancy test was the official sign that I was going to have another baby. This pregnancy, so far, has been pretty different than Gracies. I am slightly nauseated with this one, but not bad. Probably the biggest change is that I am really LAZY! All I want to do is lay on the couch and nap. I do get up to feed Gracie, change her pants, and play with her here and there, but everything else has been put on the back burner. That is until this week. I'm starting to regain some energy and my house was finally kinda clean since 2 months ago. And I'm getting back on the internet (sorry for the absence of blog entries). We were hoping for maybe another year between siblings, but of course we feel blessed to have another addition to this family. By the way, baby #2 will be arriving around September 19th and as of right now, we are not going to find out the sex of the baby. So, here's to another pregnant summer!

Is it Spring Yet?

Gracie just couldn't get enough of her wagon ride. We had to go on two walks and take a break sitting in the wagon at home. We sure made the most of the day and I am very ready for spring.

What a Beautiful Day!

It was a beautiful day today. Gracie turned 15 months today and we had her 15 month check up at the doctors. Everything checked out great; almost 25 lbs and 32 inches tall! When we got home we just had to go out side and play. In the one picture she was slipping on ice and ended up on her bottom. By the end of 45 minutes, this little patch of snow was all foot printed up. She was not happy when we came inside. I am definitely ready for spring and so is Gracie.

Morgan's Birthday Party!

We were invited to Morgans 2nd birthday party. Nancy was brave enough to have 5 little kids running around with chocolate cake on their faces. The kids all seemed to have a lot of fun and Gracie especially liked the balloons and Morgans new carebear. Sorry Morgan. Hope you had a fun birthday!
