Mmmmm...Yummy!

So, my Mom and I have been excitedly exploring crafty/food blog sites and its so much fun. I'm finding all sorts of stuff I need to do.  Anyways, I found these Chex Lemon Buddies and couldn't pass up making these things.  I love puppy chow and I was sure I'd love these.  They are good - very rich tasting!  I'm a sucker for lemon desserts - very fresh tasting.  You should try 'em. Bambi II

If you haven't seen this movie, you need to rent or buy it.  I was going to add on the end of that sentence, "if you have kids",but I like to watch it too.  I think its waaaay better than the first Bambi - lots more funny parts.
Gracie was dying laughing throughout this whole movie. She especially loved the part where Flower tries to be tough and farts.
It is really funny, but after having watched it 30 times "just one more time Mom", it still was funny, just not lol funny (to me).  Gracie could've watched that part all night.  So, go see this movie this week/weekend - you won't be sorry.  :)

For the Birds

So, I seen, in a magazine I think, an idea, where you take piece of yarn, put them in an old onion bag, and then they will use them to make their nests in the spring.  When we go on walks,we can try to spy our pieces of yarn we set out for the birds.  We used rainbow colored yarn, so it was very colorful.  Gracie loved cutting the pieces of yarn - she got a little wild at the end.
Our finished product on our backyard tree next to the food thingy (of which no birds have visited). Hope they use it!

Your Not Pretty Enough Mommy

As I was getting ready for work, Gracie was handing me makeup telling me, "You're not pretty enough Mommy. Use this, and this. I'm gonna put some on."
This is the makeup style she came up with. Pretty unique!  I think she'd do good on a special effects makeup crew.
So, I headed off to work and left this to Hoff to clean up. HAHAHA. The bad thing was that he couldn't get it all off, so when she went to daycare the next day, she looked like she had a black eye! Glad we have an understanding daycare lady - plus, she said she'd try to get more off. Whoops.

Paci Paradise

We store quite a few paci's in  her bed, but never this many. We usually keep extra's in a little bucket on the top shelf of her closet.
I let meant to let her choose a few from the bucket, and she decided that she wanted all of them. 2 handfuls is all it took.
Which one? She tried each and everyone of them, believe me! When she goes to sleep, she has one in each hand and one in her mouth and she interchanges them frequently. Weird kiddo. She loves her paci's!

Valentines Day 2011

You'll have to forgive the just got off work/running around after dance class attire. We just celebrated V-day at home. I bought Hoff some Hyacinth, and once Gracie seen those, she informed me that she needed flowers too. I may have texted Hoff.
 Awww...cute!  She loves her Daddy!
Notice how Gracie got 5 roses and Evie got 1. She didn't have to much interest in it,though.
She was much more into her sucker that Gracie took upon herself to think that she needed that right before supper. Needless to say, it got taken away shortly after this picture. Oh yeah, and see (maybe you can't) she was eating this on  Gracie's bed - oh yeah - stickyness all over it.  I made us Herbed Chicken Parmesean from Rachel Ray (so not a 30 minute meal).  We had this meal probably 6 years ago and we thought it was the bomb. Wasn't as good this time around.  Haven't made it in so long cause it takes a long time to make. Then to top it off, I made us some pumpkin pie for dessert. Yum, everyone loved that, and Evie even said "Pum pie" for the first time. It was a good V-day!

February Thaw

We decided to head out to Schramm to enjoy the beautiful weather today and to feed the fish and ducks/geese. There was a lot more snow than I thought there would be. I think its melting slow for how warm its been.
We had a lot of snowballs flying. Colleen and Clint met us out there. We had some friendly competition going to see who had the most accurate aim.
 Beautiful Gracie!
Here she is posing with her snowman head -the corn is his mouth.
The favorite activity of the day was splashing in all the water. I had to refrain several times to tell them to quit.
Clothes, boots, socks, coats, hands all muddy/wet, but they had a blast!
Here Evie is getting up after falling down in the mud.
 Evie splashing in the water.
It was such a workout and the freshly melted snow looked so good,  Evie just wanted to quench her thirst. Luckily, she couldn't get down far enough to suck any up.  And, yes, I'm that Mom who instead of stopping her children from doing something gross/messy/potentially dangerous, I would rather take a picture. :)

My First Pony!

It may be little, but it sure is cute.  I was really impressed that she left it in all day long.
There's that Evie smile that I love!

Happy 4th Birthday Lane

The kids were having a little dance party in the basement.
Gracie, Kade, and Lane all eating pizza at their little picnic table.
Lane was all ready to blow out that candle. I think Gracie was to a couple of times.
All the adults were playing with Lanes new toys.  Colleen is shooting with the new buck hunter game she got him.

Having Fun in February

Gracie is playing duck hunt. Just remembered we had that game and Gracie loved it.  She did awesome.
Evie being silly, wearing the baby's sunglasses. She looks like a hippy.
Gracie was giving Evie rides in the kitchen one day on their little bus. They would get going pretty fast at times and we had lots of crashes into the wall or furniture, but they had a blast. At least they're finding something to keep themselves entertained.  Can't wait til we can play outside again.

Evie's Funny Faces

This girl has a gallery of funny faces. The funniness of it get amplified by the eating of food cause she is such a messy eater.
She is eating Gracie's sliced of pizza. Gracie only eats the top part of the pizza.
 This is Evie saying "Pizzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa".
Evie saying pizza again - close view.
It was so funny that the pizza sauce ended up right in the middle of her forehead like those indian women.
MMMMMmmmmmmmmm.....I really LOVE pizza.  I am an Italian food lover!

Happy 31st to Me!

Just like every other birthday after age 21, my 31st birthday is just another day.  But, I got to thinking about my birthday and I was turning 31.  3 and 1. Hey! I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old! That would be a cool picture! We had several takes but nothing perfect - that's life.  Mom and Dad came down for the day to take me out to eat, however Evie and Gracie had both gotten up early that day and took an early nap around 11. So, Mom and I ventured into Omaha to do a little shopping and brought home some chipotle for a late lunch.  They stayed the night so Hoff and I could go out to eat and see a movie.  We went to see Tron 3D.  It was my first theater 3D expericence and found it to be pretty cool.  We then met up with Colleen, had a couple beers and went home.  It was a good birthday!  :)

Snow Fun 2011!

Monday the 10th was Evie's first experience with all the snow.  She really liked it except when her face got in the snow.
I think Gracie temporarily forgot what to do in the snow.  She just stood around forever!
We tried going for a sled ride with both girls on a one person sled.  It seemed to be working out ok until we hit the bottom of the driveway and Evie went tumbling off. So, scratch that idea.
Sledding was Evie favorite snow activity.  Otherwise she was just walking around and falling down into it.
Here I'm making snow angels with Gracie. Gracie didn't really care for me throwing her into the snow so she could make an angel and I ended up having to move her arms and legs for her.
I always like these close up pictures.  Gracie gave me such a nice smile too!
Chilled out Evie here waiting for a sled ride.
We finally decided it was time to go into the house.  Gracie takes off for the back of the house and obviously wanted to play on the swingset before she came in.
This is poor Evie staring out the window, dreaming of playing in the snow.  We ended up with about 8 inches out of this storm - first major snow of the season.  I'm sure there will be plenty more snow days!
