We Are Having . . . . . . . . .?

Although we were planning on not finding out the baby's sex until the birth, curiosity got the best of us and we were too tempted not to find out. We are having another GIRL! Little Gracie is going to love having a sister to play with. Even though a boy would've evened things out, having another daughter has its many advantages. I now don't have to paint the baby room a neutral color, we get to re-use all of Gracie's baby clothes, and we only have to try and figure out a girls name. The ultrasound tech sounded pretty confident in her prediction. Every thing seems to be as it should and we are glad we will have this precious addition to our family.

Daddy's Little Helper

While Hoff had his two weeks off, he got two major projects accomplished. First he put together Gracie's new swing set, which she loves. One of her favorite things to do is to swing. Literally she would swing for hours and we do. We've learned to place a chair out there for Mom and Dad to rest. The little stinker even knows to kink her legs back and hold on to the chains when we have had enough and want her to get out. Hoff has even taken the swing off the hooks and brought the whole thing into the house because she would not get out. Hoff then tackled the challenging job of laying laminate flooring in our kitchen. As frustrating as it was at times, it looks really nice and we like it a lot. My job was to entertain Gracie so she wouldn't interfere with the installation process. She likes to get in the way.

First Zoo Experience!

On May 4th, we decided to take Gracie to the zoo. We considered it a mini vacation since we probably won't get to take one this summer. Hoff is lucky enough to have 2 weeks off between jobs, so we are doing some fun things and he is getting some work done around this house. He will probably be stationed in Columbus, but don't know for sure. We knew we wanted Gracie to see three things for sure . . .the fish, monkeys, and ride the train. We went on a Monday for crowd purposes and for future reference the train only goes on the weekends. I was a little mad about that. Anyways, Gracie did like the Lied Jungle with all the monkeys and she did like the fish aquarium. It was cute to hear her call the fish, "Here fishy, fishy, fishy. By about three Gracie had had enough and laid down for a nap and my feet were sore. I don't know how people get yearly passes. Once a year is good enough for me; it makes for an exhausting but good day.

The Perfect Day

We spent a day at Schram Park and the Platte river Sunday, May 3rd. The weather was perfect and Gracie just loved the sand. She would lay all over it.

We were going to picnic, but we thought Gracie wouldn't do well eating outside. So we ate a little lunch at the Gretna Pizza Hut, before heading over to the park. We looked at the fish aquarium and she loved that. Then we headed over to check out all the geese and the little baby gosslings.
She doesn't have any diapers on because she sat in goose poop over at the park. She didn't seem to mind not having pants on.
All in all, we had a nice relaxing day and plan on going again sometime!
