Driving Tractors

So, this post is out of order, but oh well.  When we came up to visit little Tate, we had a lot of fun on Papa and Grandma Jo's farm.  The girls got to drive the tractor with Papa!
Evie was a horrible driver! She almost crashed right into the hay bales!
Gracie got to drive it back to the shed - she thought she was pretty cool!
Then Colleen, Gracie, Papa, and Evie had some fun running on the hay bales.
The girls got to pet one of Great Grandpa Lund's baby calves.
 Awww...hugs from Evie!
They thought the baby calf was so cute and had a lot of fun petting him! I really miss the farm - someday maybe I'll have one of my own.

Pump it Up

We went to Pump it Up in Omaha for Piper's 2nd Birthday party! It has all sorts of inflatable slides and jumpers in the building for the kids to play on.  Evie liked the slide the best and was a big dare devil - she is scared of nothing! She also is a rule breaker - supposed to slide feet first :)
Gracie was too scared to watch her journey down the slide.
Here she did just that and was a little scared.
The group of kiddos that came to play for the party!
We enjoyed some delicious cupcakes afterward and juice, sang Piper Happy Birthday, and watched her open gifts!
The Hofmeister girls - Piper, Evie, and Gracie.
On our way out Hoff saw this cyclone thing that had wind speeds up to 78 mph. It was funny to watch their hair! We had a lot of fun!

It Ain't Easy Being Green

We attended Schramms special event this weekend for St. Patty's day - Frog and Turtle show! Gracie just had to wear these glasses.
They had all sorts of different turtles and frogs on display and information all about them.  They even had a tub of turtles you could hold!
The title of this post refers to poor Evie's turtle - she dropped him :\ The girl there said that it was ok but then she checked to see if his poor little shell was cracked - whoops.
We found a beautiful flowering Magnolia tree.
 The flowers smelled so good.
Then we took a little walk to see the fish and geese.
We seen several snakes (does this mean rain?). This guy (I had to look it up) is a yellow bellied racer.  He was mean.  We also seen a garter and another one swimming in the water.
Gracie found some gold! Golden dandelions that is. She calls every flower a daisy flower. We had a very enjoyable St Pats.

Welcome Tate!

On March 3rd, I got a new nephew! Mr. Tate Frank-Denny Lund.
He's a strong little booger with a natural mohawk :)
Here is is with his proud big brothers Lane and Kade! So glad to have another healthy baby in the family!

Happy Birthday Buttercup!

So, Gracie informed me that Buttercup (her favorite stuffed kitty) was going to be having a birthday soon and we need to get her a present. Such a sly thing she is. So, we browsed the internet and was able to find a present for Buttercup.  When I got around to it, we had Buttercups birthday - Feb 29th.
So, of course we had to make Buttercup some cupcakes with purple frosting.  Gracie loves to bake. I'm sure you can tell why....she get's to eat all the goodies while we are in the process of making and baking.
I frosted the cupcakes while she decorated. She did a very good job!
But had to sneak some taste testing in here and there.
 The finished products :)
We decided to decorate for the party.
All the other kitties attended the party - they gathered round while Buttercup opened her present.
Oh my goodness, she got a new friend for a present (Gracie's idea). Buttercups new friends name is Figaro.
Singing Buttercup Happy Birthday - she's four years old you know.
They both took turns blowing out the candles.
Happy Birthday Buttercup!

Dissecting Frogs!

Gracie was playing teacher one night.  She was copying what she seen on Kermit returns to the Swamp movie.
She had all her students (stuffed animals) lined up along the kitchen wall.  It was funny to hear her "teach". She would ask a question like, "What is this?" and then she'd say "Yes, Buttercup. Its a frog." in her most encouraging teacher voice.

Here she is assisting Buttercup in dissected her frog.
She's using her pretend knife to cut this frog open for her students.

Enjoying the Snow!

Excited to be outside playing in the snow!
Evie liked to plop down in the snow.

Gracie liked getting all the icicles and throwing them.  Here it was her magic wand!
Then I told her to be a unicorn - hahahaha!
Evie found one on the swing set and I caught her eating it!
Hoff started making a fort out of buckets of snow and Gracie was practicing her ninja moves destroying them.
It's fun to play in the snow!
Gracie is really good at making snow angels.
This is Evie's snow angel I helped her make.  So cute to see such a little one. Gracie's got tromped on - her's is directly below Evie's (you can still see the wings).
