Happy Easter 2010

This was Evie's interest during the Easter egg hunt at our house and she made one heck of a mess!

This is Gracie after the egg hunt at Grandma Jo and Papa's house. She was playing with her pinwheel and pondering Easter and how much she LOVES to find those eggs. . .I don't think there could ever be enough.

And for your viewing pleasure, I thought you might like to see Evie's Easter pictures.  I did the same thing with Gracie and if you compare - they're pretty similar. Unfortunately, Gracie pictures aren't on this computer and I'm not digging to find it. Anyways, turned out pretty good; she did not like the grass-I'm surprised I got a smile.  Happy Easter everyone!

Sky High!

So, I was looking out my living room window at all the pretty clouds and thought they'd be an awesome backdrop for some pictures.  Well, here's my thoughts into action.  I thought they came out pretty good . . . little angels in the sky!

Evie's 6 months!

Well, this chunky monkey just keeps growing and growing.  She is babbling and talking all the time - ga's and da's and when she gets mad she makes fart noises. She is just as sweet as pie, but watch out when she's angry or tired.  One of Evie's favorite things to do is to walk in her walker.  I joke that I'll have to write a book about "Evie and Her Wonder Walker". I just imagine her running fast in it with a dust cloud behind her. Ha!  She toodles all over the place in that thing and loves every minute of it.  We are eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and fruits and veggies.  She loves all her veggies and most fruits - not peaches - see previous blog entry.  This girls wants to move, but her legs just aren't that strong yet and we're still working on sitting.

The Easter Bunny 2010

We Will Miss You Grandpa Werts!

Grandpa Werts passed peacefully into Heaven on March 22nd.  It was a shock to all of us and it still really doesn't seem real. He was such a great guy and loved having the great grandkids around.  The top picture is him playing with Evie the Monday before he passed away - its the last picture of him alive.  His quick departure makes me think Grandma had something to do with it because her passing was so painful and drawn out that Grandpa could have a quick and painless one.  Well, they are both in Heaven now watching over us. Holidays just won't be the same without him and neither will I for that matter. I little piece of me died that day also, but I have so many awesome memories to treasure.  Thanks for being such a wonderful grandparent, Grandpa. I loved you soooo much, and will miss you tons, but I'll be seeing you on the flipside in due time.  It won't be long and we'll all be together having a grand ole time in Heaven. Until then, I hope you check in on us often and keep watch over us to guide us on the right path. Love You!!!

Mexico!

For our 30th Birthdays this year, we all decided to take a trip.We decided on  Mexico, and our budget decided on Puerto Vallarta.  We staying in an all inclusive resort (RIU-Vallarta), where you could eat and drink anything and everything! It was awesome because you could try things that you probably wouldn't ever try . . if it was gross, you go get something else.  There were 7 couples who went on the trip, so there was plenty of fun to be had. We arrived on Thursday, March 25th -early afternoon.  We all ran to the pool and ocean and soaked up some of the 'long time no see' sun rays. God it felt good. It feels like I haven't seen the sun forever!  The next day (Fri.) we went on a zip line adventure through a jungle. It was fun, but a lot of work. It was an hour long drive one way to get where we were going so we got to see the real Mexico. On Saturday, we all (14 of us), got on a sail boat and sailled to the Mariettas Islands.  It was so beautiful there. I could've stayed a long time. We got to snorkel and mess around on the beach for awhile. On this boat we got to see a turtle, whale (blow hole), and lots of pretty fish; Hoff liked the little bright blue fish, I liked the back fish with teal and green dots on it. On our way back (on the boat), we got to do a little drinking and had a lot of fun.  Sunday (March 28th), we got up early, searched for sea shells, soaked up the sun down by the beach, and returned home.  It was a much needed trip and we had a lot of fun! Can't wait to see where we go in 5 years!

Welcome Piper!

Gracie was super excited to meet her new cousin Piper Joy.  She could barely contain herself; she just wanted to give her a kiss soooo bad.  When she gets a little older, the girls will have a lot of fun playing together.
