Sky High!

So, I was looking out my living room window at all the pretty clouds and thought they'd be an awesome backdrop for some pictures.  Well, here's my thoughts into action.  I thought they came out pretty good . . . little angels in the sky!

Evie's 6 months!

Well, this chunky monkey just keeps growing and growing.  She is babbling and talking all the time - ga's and da's and when she gets mad she makes fart noises. She is just as sweet as pie, but watch out when she's angry or tired.  One of Evie's favorite things to do is to walk in her walker.  I joke that I'll have to write a book about "Evie and Her Wonder Walker". I just imagine her running fast in it with a dust cloud behind her. Ha!  She toodles all over the place in that thing and loves every minute of it.  We are eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and fruits and veggies.  She loves all her veggies and most fruits - not peaches - see previous blog entry.  This girls wants to move, but her legs just aren't that strong yet and we're still working on sitting.

We Will Miss You Grandpa Werts!

Grandpa Werts passed peacefully into Heaven on March 22nd.  It was a shock to all of us and it still really doesn't seem real. He was such a great guy and loved having the great grandkids around.  The top picture is him playing with Evie the Monday before he passed away - its the last picture of him alive.  His quick departure makes me think Grandma had something to do with it because her passing was so painful and drawn out that Grandpa could have a quick and painless one.  Well, they are both in Heaven now watching over us. Holidays just won't be the same without him and neither will I for that matter. I little piece of me died that day also, but I have so many awesome memories to treasure.  Thanks for being such a wonderful grandparent, Grandpa. I loved you soooo much, and will miss you tons, but I'll be seeing you on the flipside in due time.  It won't be long and we'll all be together having a grand ole time in Heaven. Until then, I hope you check in on us often and keep watch over us to guide us on the right path. Love You!!!

Mexico!

For our 30th Birthdays this year, we all decided to take a trip.We decided on  Mexico, and our budget decided on Puerto Vallarta.  We staying in an all inclusive resort (RIU-Vallarta), where you could eat and drink anything and everything! It was awesome because you could try things that you probably wouldn't ever try . . if it was gross, you go get something else.  There were 7 couples who went on the trip, so there was plenty of fun to be had. We arrived on Thursday, March 25th -early afternoon.  We all ran to the pool and ocean and soaked up some of the 'long time no see' sun rays. God it felt good. It feels like I haven't seen the sun forever!  The next day (Fri.) we went on a zip line adventure through a jungle. It was fun, but a lot of work. It was an hour long drive one way to get where we were going so we got to see the real Mexico. On Saturday, we all (14 of us), got on a sail boat and sailled to the Mariettas Islands.  It was so beautiful there. I could've stayed a long time. We got to snorkel and mess around on the beach for awhile. On this boat we got to see a turtle, whale (blow hole), and lots of pretty fish; Hoff liked the little bright blue fish, I liked the back fish with teal and green dots on it. On our way back (on the boat), we got to do a little drinking and had a lot of fun.  Sunday (March 28th), we got up early, searched for sea shells, soaked up the sun down by the beach, and returned home.  It was a much needed trip and we had a lot of fun! Can't wait to see where we go in 5 years!

Welcome Piper!

Gracie was super excited to meet her new cousin Piper Joy.  She could barely contain herself; she just wanted to give her a kiss soooo bad.  When she gets a little older, the girls will have a lot of fun playing together.

Ugh...Peaches

She will probably kill me later in life for posting this photo, but its so funny.  Peaches aren't her favorite, but they are growing on her. Her favorites are prunes and applesauce.  She does really well with the rice cereal and fruits. Once we hit the 6 month mark, we'll try adding some vegetables.

Pretty Pony!

When she is in the mood, Gracie will let me put her hair into a ponytail.  This was the first in quite sometime and I realized just how long her hair is getting! I hope she lets me do it more often cause I really like it!

Our Pretty Princess Turns 5 Months!

Miss Evie is now 5 months old!  She's babbling a lot more and loves spending time in her jumperoo and walker.  We are working on sitting up, but still have a lot of practice to do.  She is such a smiler and it really lights the room up.

Teeny Weeny Swimsuits!

I found these cute swimsuits at Carters, however they were sooo small on them. Gracie had a 3T on and Evie had an 18 months - both were tight.  Evie actually fit into Gracies lengthwise!  I think my girls have long torsos. In the end, I had to return them. Now they won't match. I found some equally as cute suits at Gymboree, but I liked these that were slightly similar.

Evie's 4 Month's!

This pretty princess has grown quite a bit in the past couple months! Her personality has presented itself. She's a very sweet girl with a temper when she gets angry. She likes to laugh and giggle and enjoys lots of attention. She's been trying to roll, but can only make it onto her side. I have a feeling she'll be moving at an early age as she is already moving in circles on the floor. She's quite the character and is pretty patient when it comes to big sister picking on her all the time.  We've been trying out rice cereal here and there and playing in her jumperoo, but all that activity and food still don't fill her up or wear her out enough for a whole nights sleep. She gets up 1-2 times in the night, which makes her Mommy pretty tired. This girls just keeps growing - now in 6-9 month clothing. Hopefully next month I'll be able to report that she's sleeping better - yeah right.

Oh No, I'm 30!

What an old geezer. Just kidding. I can't believe that I'm 30 already! Mom and  Dad came down for the day and took me and the girls out to eat. We stopped at Scheels so I could shop for my Mexico trip coming up! Other than that not much celebration for the 30th. I figure if my next decade is as exciting as my previous one (graduation from college, started nursing career, got married, had 2 beautiful girls, and many more fun times) I can't wait to see what it'll bring!

New Years 2010!

New Years was pretty mellow this year. Hoff had to work on New Year's eve for 8 hours, so he didn't get home until 10:30-11:00pm that night. I had to work on New Year's day, so I got to bed pretty early - 11ish. The girls and I celebrated early with fun hats and watched Ice Age. Low key, but we had fun.

Christmas 2009

Well the weather really ruined Christmas this year. . .stupid blizzard. We ended up having my family christmas on December 23rd. We made a break for home on December 24th, as the storm had simmered for a small period of time. We had to follow Dad with the tractor out to the highway, but once there the roads were ok. We stopped down at Grandpa and Grandma Lunds for a brief period, but otherwise all grandparents christmases were canceled.  We celebrated with the Hofmeister clan on Christmas Day. The girls got very nice gifts and Gracie had fun unwrapping her gifts. Hopefully next year the weather will cooperate, but of course it's my holiday to work. Go figure!
