Happy Birthday Buttercup!

So, Gracie informed me that Buttercup (her favorite stuffed kitty) was going to be having a birthday soon and we need to get her a present. Such a sly thing she is. So, we browsed the internet and was able to find a present for Buttercup.  When I got around to it, we had Buttercups birthday - Feb 29th.
So, of course we had to make Buttercup some cupcakes with purple frosting.  Gracie loves to bake. I'm sure you can tell why....she get's to eat all the goodies while we are in the process of making and baking.
I frosted the cupcakes while she decorated. She did a very good job!
But had to sneak some taste testing in here and there.
 The finished products :)
We decided to decorate for the party.
All the other kitties attended the party - they gathered round while Buttercup opened her present.
Oh my goodness, she got a new friend for a present (Gracie's idea). Buttercups new friends name is Figaro.
Singing Buttercup Happy Birthday - she's four years old you know.
They both took turns blowing out the candles.
Happy Birthday Buttercup!

Dissecting Frogs!

Gracie was playing teacher one night.  She was copying what she seen on Kermit returns to the Swamp movie.
She had all her students (stuffed animals) lined up along the kitchen wall.  It was funny to hear her "teach". She would ask a question like, "What is this?" and then she'd say "Yes, Buttercup. Its a frog." in her most encouraging teacher voice.

Here she is assisting Buttercup in dissected her frog.
She's using her pretend knife to cut this frog open for her students.

Enjoying the Snow!

Excited to be outside playing in the snow!
Evie liked to plop down in the snow.

Gracie liked getting all the icicles and throwing them.  Here it was her magic wand!
Then I told her to be a unicorn - hahahaha!
Evie found one on the swing set and I caught her eating it!
Hoff started making a fort out of buckets of snow and Gracie was practicing her ninja moves destroying them.
It's fun to play in the snow!
Gracie is really good at making snow angels.
This is Evie's snow angel I helped her make.  So cute to see such a little one. Gracie's got tromped on - her's is directly below Evie's (you can still see the wings).

Snowman 2012

Hoff and the girls building our only snowman for the winter season.
The girls sitting on top of the snowman bottom.  We went out when it was blowing, but it was fun to have it blowing around you.
 Getting the second layer on.
Evie is king of the snowman!  She thought this was pretty cool.
Evie trying to put the carrot in for his nose - it was too tough to stick it in.
So, Gracie tried sticking it in and couldn't as well.
Gracie put in all of the buttons and eyes
Our finished product.  Evie kept going in the house and getting carrots.  I don't know how many noses she thought that poor snowman needed. Ha!

My 32nd Birthday

Another nice day for a birthday. Dad always has to tell me that I've always had a pretty nice day on my birthday :)  We spent the day really low key. We went out to eat with Dave and Laurie at Farmer Browns on Friday night. Saturday, we lounged at the house til Mom and Dad came down with a bunch of goodies (chocolate chip rice krispie bars and Grandma L. homemade angel food cake)! Then Hoff and I headed out to supper and a movie which hardly ever happens so it was good to go! Then on Sunday, Mom and Dad took me out to eat at Lazlo's and we headed over to Colleens to visit! Finished the day off with a nap, and luckily got put on call for my night shift! Now I'm relaxing watching the golden globes - aaahhh the life of the celebrities. It'd be so fun to dress up like that. Anywho, had a great weekend!

50 Degree January!

I finally was not working when we hit a beautiful 50 something degree day! So, after our naps, we headed out to our beloved Schramm Park with goodies for the geese, ducks, and fish!
There was quite a few geese out there. And surprisingly, they were all in a good mood! No hissing or charging Cherri!
Gracie and Evie were just thrilled to be back at our old relaxing spot! Mostly cause I told them we'd go on a nature walk, but we just walked around the park!
She loves it when she can roam freely.
I love giving this sweet little face a whole bunch of kisses. She is such an independent little girl and so funny!
Got a good pic of one of the rainbow trouts - usually in this fish ponds the only ones you can see really well are the orange fish! The sun was at just the right angle! The green moss was such a pretty color!
Evie is such a big girl - she almost looks as big as Gracie! When people see my picture of them in my name badge at work they always as "Are they twins?" Evie B. could definitely be my volleyball/basketball player. They were running towards the playground equipment.
 Awwww.....sisters!
Smile big! Like you love each other!
We had a lot of fun just relaxing in the sun and soaking up the rays - we watched the geese swim over the lake.
Gracie is getting so grown up! Makes me sad and glad.
The girls were checking out the pond - there was baby fish in there!
The weather this winter has just been outstanding! Hardly any snow and weather mostly in 30's,40's and 50's! Even a few record breaking days in the 60's! Wonder if this is what an Oklahoma winter feels like! I hope we get some rain, but really don't miss the snow! I'm thinking Feb and March may bring us something nasty!
Hoff got me a new lens for my canon camera for my birthday! I love it! I can zoom in really far! At the end of our day, we did some bird watching! This isn't the bird, but there was one little chickadee that really wasn't happy we were there - it was really cussing us out.
There was like 5 cardinals there hiding in a bush - they were so pretty! We really enjoyed the day! Can't wait for the next 50 something degree day!
